About Our Chapter
The National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA) is the only national student organization for pre-professionals studying communication sciences and disorders (CSD) recognized by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). The NSSLHA chapter at AAMU focuses on networking, community outreach, as well as professional development. Our chapter participates in service in the Huntsville area through partnerships with local skilled nursing facilities. We celebrate World Hearing Day on our campus by providing free hearing screenings to students, faculty, staff, and community members. Our members meet for career development workshops as well as networking with other cohorts during social events.
